the people of newtown, connecticut, that includes christmas, one act of kindness though from a little boy in texas, could not think of a better way to spend the holiday than honoring those who, whose lives were lost at sandy hook. >> one by one, all by himself cooper carlisle put down cards for the children of newtown, connecticut, at this churchside memorial. it is how the fifth grader wanted to spend his christmas. >> when i heard about sandy hook i felt really bad for all the kids who had died. >> reporter: cooper, coming all the way from houston, texas, did not want to show up empty-handed so he persuaded his principal to let the entire school make all of these cards, filled with prayers and poems. >> i want surprised he wanted to do something. i was just surprised he followed through with it and it made me really proud. >> all the children in the school wrote cards, original drawings and cooper said that he would deliver them up here. >> reporter: a promise cooper kept this christmas day. the 10-year-old shared part of one particularly poignant poem written for children of newtow
